"Tortle Products, LLC, manufacturer of Tortle, the lightweight knit beanie that helps prevent and treat Flathead Syndrome, announced today that Tortle will now
be available on beginning December 10, 2013. will carry three Tortle designs; Blue Elephant, Pink Flowers and Solid White.  The Tortle beanies are available in medium and large sizes at a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Developed by Dr. Jane Scott, a Board Certified Pediatrician and Neonatologist, the Tortle beanie is an FDA-cleared patented Class 1 medical device that promotes proper head and neck movement which is essential for appropriate development.  Tortle helps prevent and treat early stages of flat head syndrome: plagiocephaly (the flattening of the baby’s skull) & torticollis (unbalanced neck muscles). Tortle works by gently deflecting a baby’s head from side to side when they are sitting or lying on the back of their head.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends regular head repositioning of babies younger than six months."

Tortle can prevent and treat flat head syndrome. I sure wish this product was around when one of my older children were young. We had to rotate him constantly as he developed flat head syndrome. It is very common, 1 out of 2 babies develop it. This comfortable, FDA approved knit beanie by gently deflecting your baby’s head from side to side while they are lying on the back of their head.
Recommended for all newborns up to 6 months of age

I've never heard of this product before. I learned that the Tortle is a baby beanie with a repositioning support roll that allows you to easily reposition a baby's head to prevent flat head. This would be great for my newborn!

I learned all about flat head syndrome, I never knew there was such a thing. When my children were babies, they slept on thier bellies... I am worried about my grandbabies now.

My son likes to sleep on one side only. The turtle addresses this problem better than his doctor, who prefers wait and see. It is an all too common issue and every new parent should know about this.

I learned that the inventor is a Board-Certified Pediatrician and Neonatologist and a mother of four.

I learned about flat head syndrome and that it develops in the first couple months of life. I also learned that tortle can be useful in helping to position your child's head to prevent flat head syndrome.

I didn't realize that half of all babies (1 in 2) will develop flat head syndrome. My cousin's baby had this and I didn't realize it was so common. I also didn't know you could prevent it! Yay, Tortle!
