Scripture Snippets

My pastor has been on fire lately as we continue on doing our Father's business. I tend to find something each Sunday that I want to remember and hold on to for the rest of the week. To not just go to church and remain unchanged. Putting just a snippet from the service will help  me to focus on what I have learned, and maybe help you get a word from the Lord as well.

"Be on your guard, so that your minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness, and worries of this life, or that day will come on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come on all who live on the face of the whole earth. But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36

As Christians we don't really get caught up in carousing, though it does mean all fleshly things that are promoted by the devil. Nor do we tend toward drunkenness as many of the world are. We do however tend to have the care of this world distract us from what we should be focused on. We need to take one day at a time and NOT WORRY! This is Jesus speaking, and He knows the things that are going to catch us off guard. Verse 36 alludes to the rapture. This is the only time Jesus speaks of the end times and of His return. We will all be standing before the God at the end of time. Are we going to miss the day of visitation because we are caught up in the cares of this world, rather than being about the Father's business? It isn't easy, not at all. Satan has made it quite easy for us to worry, even encouraging it through the world's message that if you aren't worried you must not care.

I am choosing to take one day at a time, and not worry. We know it won't add one bit of life to us, but instead makes stress and is actually detrimental to our health. I want to not allow the cares of this world to distract from what I need to be doing. He is coming soon, and I desire to be ready.
