Nazareth Secret *Review & Giveaway

Nazareth Secret

"Nestled in a valley among the mountains of Israel in lower Galilee, Nazareth is an ancient city, over 2000 years old, and a celebrated spiritual destination that has welcomed pilgrims for centuries. Often referred to as “the cradle of Christianity”, it’s a vibrant city of natural beauty, intriguing architecture and a charming Middle Eastern culture.

Green fields contrast with olive trees and citrus groves, and hillsides bloom with wildflowers or are stepped with white stone terraces. Churches, mosques and temples fill the city with spirituality, everything interwoven by a rich, shared history. Even today, the region continues to grow and change, very much alive, that rich history still being written.

Nazareth Secret is a family-based company, and we have been fortunate to call this beautiful place our home for over 25 years. We are passionate about sharing its splendor with those who cannot be here to enjoy it with us, and each of our premium products is carefully chosen to evoke the flavors, beauty and history of the Holy Land. We pride ourselves not only on our high standards, but also on our commitment to preserving the natural state of the land. Every product is natural, crafted locally, and is based on regional recipes, traditionally passed down from generation to generation."

Dates and Halva spread is a delightful, sweet spread with dates from the Jordan Valley. What is Halva? The term means sweet and it made from ground sesame seeds. You wouldn't know it by looking at this smooth, creamy spread! The dates help to balance out the sweet, with a pleasureful taste. This is perfect on toast or as a fruit dip.
Very popular in the Middle East, the Date and Halva spread is made entirely in the Holy Land. It is an all natural whole-food that is sure to please.

We certainly know that there was honey available in the Holy Land, and staying with tradition, Nazareth Secret is producing (along with the bees) this wonderful product.

Nazareth Honey tastes like none I have ever tasted. It is incredibly thick and smooth! It comes from the nectar of the Starthistle which is native to the Nazarene mountains. An authentic taste of the holy land, this honey is actually not as strong as clover honey is. It has a more delicate, subtle taste. Look at that gorgeous color!

Another product line from Nazareth Secret is their Candles.

These handcrafted candles are made by skilled artisans in the Galilee Mountains. They are dipped in a traditional manner with unique colors. These candles are unique in style and will help bring the light from the Holy Land into your own home! The candles come in taper or pillar style.

These products were send to me directly from the Holy Land and I must say how exceptional of a job they did in packaging. The breakable bottles were wrapped wonderfully, and the candles were well protected. There was not any problem at all with the shipment of the products.

I am generously offering my readers these 2 taper candles so that you can have a bit of the Holy Land in your home! This giveaway is for US only and ends Feb 13th.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

College Housing Benefits from Live Plants *Ad

Living on your own in UCM housing is a great way to learn how to be an adult. Taking care of yourself through proper diet, exercise, and study habits without a concerned parent hanging over your shoulder isn’t always easy to do, however. Temptations abound when you are surrounded by other young and energetic students who are also learning lessons in taking care of themselves. But even if you would rather attend a party than buckle down and study for that big test coming up next week, the efforts you make to keep your living quarters relaxing and functional will never be wasted. And even if you can’t bring along a beloved pet with you to campus housing, you can populate your dorm or apartment with live plants.

Easy Care, Refreshing Air

So you don’t have gardening skills. So what? House plants are fairly simple to care for, and in return for a little water and sunshine, they give you so much. Indoor plants benefit residents in a number of ways. For instance, you probably already know that green plants release oxygen (which you breathe) while soaking up carbon dioxide (which is a waste gas that you exhale). While most plants “sleep” at night by changing their respiration to soaking up oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide, some, like succulents, orchids, and epiphytic bromeliads continue to release oxygen during the quiet (or not so quiet) hours of darkness. Succulents, such as cacti, are probably the simplest form of indoor plant to care for, and setting two or three of these in your bedroom will keep the air fresh while you sleep. And as a side bonus, the plants aren’t just producing oxygen; they are also purifying the air by removing toxins and exhaling soothing water vapor. Studies have shown that hospital patients respond better to treatments and heal faster on average when recovering in a room with live plants. For reasons yet to be explained, live plants in libraries, study rooms, and classrooms also help sharpen focus and attention.

The Best Types of Easy-Care Indoor Plants

Spider plants are one of the best types of indoor plants if you don’t consider yourself a green thumb. Their long, thin leaves grow rapidly if given indirect sunlight and a little water when the soil feels dry. Hang spider plants in baskets or set them in large pots on a coffee table, kitchen counter, or nightstand in your bedroom. They are great air purifiers. For a little relief when dry winter air causes your lips to crack and your lungs to cough, install a few Boston ferns to pump up humidity levels (just be sure to mist your fern daily to keep it from drying out and quickly dying). Succulents and cacti come in all sizes, and a little neglect isn’t likely to kill them while they pump out oxygen in your bedroom. Some quick research and a visit to a department store or home store will yield plenty of options and ideas for indoor plants you could learn to enjoy. If you can’t take your pet with you to UCM housing, you might as well take care of a plant. You’ll learn some responsibility and enjoy the welcoming benefits.

Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

Everyday Ruralty

We are going to sit around the kitchen table to chat this morning. I took the dog out and it is in the single digits. Our coffee would freeze out there! What are you drinking this morning? I have my Seattle Best coffee with just a titch of half and half and stevia.. trying to skinny my coffee up with my new eating plan.

  1. Have you tried any DIY cleaning products or skin care products from the many recipes on the internet?
I actually make my own laundry detergent. I use Fels Naptha, Washing Soda and Borox to make it. It works great for your basic laundry needs and is so cost effective.

2. Do you like to enter sweepstakes, giveaways, or prize drawings?
I don't enter any of the sweepstakes like Publishers Clearing House. Being a blogger I do participate in giveaways with other blogs. I enter those I think would be fun if I could win. I have won on occasion. It also helps my fellow bloggers get more traffic when there are other bloggers entering their giveaways.

3. How often do you visit your local library? Do you have a local library?
We do have a local library. We have one in our town, and both the towns to the north and south of us. We have visited all three of them. We have quite our own personal collection of books, so we really don't have to go to the library that often. I would say maybe once ever 2 months. We need to go today actually to find some Hippo books. It all depends on what we are working on with school. A majority of the books we get are related to the unit study we are using for the week. Some of the older kids do get books for fun reading as well. We have an excellent library!

4. Do you have a simple mobile phone or one that does lots of things?
2 weeks ago I would have had to say a simple phone. I finally switched phone companies which allowed me to get a free iphone so I went with that. I love that I have more flexibility, especially it is easier for texting.

5. Tell me something new or interesting. Please:)
I am just starting my second month of a new diet with Trim Healthy Mama. I am feeling great, losing weight and inches. It is a super eating plan and I don't feel at all like I am 'dieting'. Even hubby is on board and has lost 15 pounds in the 1st month. I lost 8, how is it men lose so much faster!

Collecting Memorabilia *ad

Memorabilia, whether it's related to movies, sports, or automobiles, have maintained a steady interest in the hearts of many fans for years. Not only are these items helpful for boosting the morale and spirit of a particular interest or passion, they may also be a viable profit-generating venture. Although most passionate collectors of memorabilia aren't exactly mercenary in their collecting, the thought that an item could be worth thousands of dollars in a few years time often sparks a light in many collectors' minds. More often than not, collector items offer more intangible value than they can be made up for with monetary compensation.

Sports memorabilia is perhaps among the most collected types of memorabilia on the market, comprising a multi-million dollar industry in the United States alone. The drive many sports fans have is insurmountable, often causing a fury and passion that is absent in other areas of everyday living. Memorabilia acts as a way to increase the spirit and passion of the sports fan. These items also act as a display of their fandom, giving visitors and strangers attention to their sports endeavors. Sometimes, sports memorabilia can increase in monetary value over time, especially if these items are preserved.

Most individuals desire to shop now for new memorabilia as new items will often go for the lowest price. Although this is a wise choice, most die-hard fans will often purchase memorabilia regardless of the price. Some fans have a unique method of finding a way, any way, to purchase their memorabilia, even if it exceeds their yearly mortgage payment. Sports fans are often so passionate about their team that they will go out of their way to find memorabilia that matches their perspective. Car decals, kitchen tools, and clothing items all containing their team's logo, mascot, and color are common memorabilia items purchased by many sports enthusiasts.

Movie memorabilia, although no less important, is second in line when it comes to memorabilia popularity. Often, movie memorabilia will include books, t-shirts, home ware, and stationary. It isn't unlikely to find someone who is just as driven about a movie as someone may be about a sports team that they will go out of their way to own as much memorabilia as they can. Movie memorabilia, especially for a film that has a large following, can also increase in monetary value over time if the product has been well maintained.
