Cate McNabb Natural Cosmetics *Review

Cate McNabb Cosmetics is the new line of mineral makeup from Chicago-based McNabb, LLC. Cate McNabb is a bold, edgy brand that offers Pure Glamour – natural, mineral based ingredients with full-coverage and versatile colors. They offer a full-line of color cosmetics and a soon-to-launch line of skin and hair care options.  All cosmetics are 100% cruelty-free and the entire line will be available online now at www.CateMcNabbCosmetics.com.

It is with a tremendous amount of pride that we launch this brand,” said Al Corona, CEO of McNabb, LLC. “Before we began developing a single product, we traveled coast to coast and asked women what natural beauty means to them. Overwhelmingly they told us that when they feel good about themselves their natural beauty shines through. Armed with this knowledge, we committed ourselves to producing cosmetics that make women look and feel gorgeous from the inside out - naturally.

In setting out to produce their cosmetics the team at Cate McNabb went to great lengths to achieve a natural, mineral line that offers full-coverage for a wide variety of skin tones, bold colors and skin-friendly ingredients. The result is a line of cosmetics that are some of the silkiest, most highly-pigmented cosmetics to be found.

The full line of Cate McNabb’s color cosmetics includes foundation, blush, bronzer, concealer, powder, primer, eye shadow, eyeliner pencils and gel, eyebrow pencils, mascara, lipsticks, lip stains, lip plumper, and tinted lip balms. They are all 100% talc-free, parabin-free, fragrance-free, and noncomedogenic.

I was thrilled to sample products for a complete makeover! If you are going to go mineral, healthy cosmetics you need to do it up right. The products I chose for review were;

Cream to Powder Foundation - Light
Cream to Powder Blush- Rose Petal
Cream to Powder Eye Shadow or Loose
pistachio, bronze, cream, blonde, forest green, or amber lily
Mascara Black
Eyeliner Black
Lip Gloss- Plum
Lipstick  Pure Sandstone

To find the best eyeshadow for my blue eyes I utilized the tab located under the Lips category titled Makeup Kit and there was a link for Get the Look-Blue Eyes which is a kit. The kit comes with Blonde Creme, Amber Lily and Forest Green so I went with those. I was excited that they sent both the Cream to Powder and the Loose eye shadow to test both types. I have never tried Cream to Powder and I really loved the look of it. It took a little trial and error to see what I liked best application wise. I tried a brush, q-tip and my finger.. deciding I really did prefer my finger as an applicator.
I may actually prefer the Cream to Powder version of the eyeshadow better than the loose minerals. It goes on smoother, without getting loose powder on my cheeks. It is long lasting, though after several hours there is more crease marks than in the loose powder. I felt the Cream to Powder did have a bolder look to it. I still love both mineral base shadows though. The colors in each are outstanding and very true to what the photos on the website show.

I have never used liquid eye liner before and was a little hesitant since I typically can't draw a straight line. Not a problem! It went on very evenly and smoothly and was amazingly long lasting. I think I may end up prefering the liquid to a stick eye liner.
The mascara is full and long lasting and I appreciate that it does not contain harmful chemicals.
It is defining and I loved the curved wand.
The Cream to Powder blush can be used with a brush or your finger. I really liked that I could place the blush exactly where I wanted it to be.

Cate McNabb truly offers some of the best, natural make up products that I have had the privilege to try. I have been wearing this brand since I received it and have nothing negative to say about it at all. It is long lasting, gorgeous in color, easy to apply, and natural!
