Scholastic Storybook Treasures *Review #giftguide

As much as I would love to have unlimited time to read to my littles.. I just don't. I desire for them to hear some of the great books available, but there just isn't enough time in a day for me to spend hours doing that. I do read to them, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as much as they would like.

Scholastic Storybook Treasures is a perfect solution for me. The stories come from actual books, with the illustrations from the book, being read to my child. What a great educational DVD, full of great stories and imagination without being a TV show.

There is also a feature where the kids can Read Along with the DVD, giving them great learning to read skills.

Recently were were able to review 2 DVDs from the collection

Don't Let the Pigeon Stay up Late! 3 stories on one DVD from Mo Willems. Mo Willems has long been a favorite of ours and it was so fun to be able to see a collection of his work together. This was excellent to discuss similarities in each of the books and differences we saw. I love to include author studies when ever we can and this DVD made it very helpful. This particular disc is 27 minutes long and is recommended for ages 2-8

Children Make Terrible Pets includes 4 stories in it's 41 minutes plus extras. This DVD supports friendship and families and consists of
Children Make Terrible Pets by Peter Brown
All the World by Liz Garton Scanlon
Crow Call by Lois Lowry
Elizabeti's Doll by Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen
There is a Read Along feature with this dvd as well. Excllent choices of books for this look at friends and family. Recommended age is 4-12

These and several selections are available at NewKideo online!
