Brittanie's Thyme offers beautiful, organic skin care for all skin types.

Made in the USA, Brittanie's Thyme strives for organic integrity. Their products are made in small batches to ensure freshness and care to detail. There are no fillers, preservatives, artificial dyes or ingredients in any of their skin care products. Brittanie's Thyme is a name you can trust for pure skin care at a price you can afford.

I was able to review the Organic Everyday Moisturizer which I used on my face daily in the morning to start my day. I loved that the moisturizer left my skin soft and smooth without any sticky residue. It was not overwhelming in perfume smell but instead had just a natural mild citrus scent to it.

Some of the moisturizing ingredients include;
Aloe, Apple Juice, Shea butter, Coconut Acid, Rosemary, Citrus Extract

I appreciated that this was not a heavy lotion, perfect for day time use. I don't mind heavier lotions in the evening, but I do my face to be able to breathe during the day and not have a sense of heaviness about it. The daily moisturizer was easy to use, and absorbed quickly into my skin. I didn't have any allergic reactions of problem with the ingredients at all. The beauty of natural, organic moisturizers leaves your skin naturally moist without any added chemicals or harsh toxins.

You only need a couple drops of moisturizer for your entire face. No need to over apply. The bottle comes in a 2 oz amount for $18.00.

Brittanie's Thyme has a complete line of products for mature, sensitive, normal and dry skin types.

Imagine Childhood by Sarah Olmsted *Review

Ah, to have the imagination of a child again.. Remember the days of times past when you could run outside and the woods were your castle, and you had to fight off the mighty dragons. What about the fairy houses you imagined and the tiny villages you helped make for them. I read a lot as a child and loved to use my imagination. I think some of the electronics today are stealing the imaginations of children and they need to fall back into the magic of being young.

Sarah Olmsted knows what it means to imagine childhood and has written an outstanding book Imagine Childhood to explore with your children. Her and her family share their memories and remembrances as she writes and shares craft and outdoor activities to spark our desire to make magic for our own kids.

The book has 25 projects from making a seasonal cape, an earthen house, a magic wand, play tents, magic lanterns and more.
The book is divided into three sections; Nature, Imagination, Play

In nature we take to the outdoors and utilize the seasons and nature to drive our playfulness. Birds, Leaves, Ice Storms are all natural things that can get our imaginations going and become creative.
The imagination chapter has us making forts and tents, marionettes and play stages, map making. Going on journeys far off and creating a imaginary place and time to explore. You don't need a large yard to dream and play, you can use what ever section of earth you have.
The chapter on play gets a little more hands on with making instruments, Rube Goldberg experiments, making bows and arrows and bowling, all with creative tools you have on hand.

I loved this book! It isn't just a list of projects to do, it is so much more than that. Each chapter has insight and poetic verse to pull you back into the land of imagination. You will desire to get outside and live once you start reading this book! We can all be children again.

Lips N Lotions *Review/Giveaway

LipsNLotions... these are the type of things that come to mind as we start into the Fall season! Dry lips and skin are upon us shortly and we need to gear up with lip balms and lotions.

LipsNLotions is a beautiful Etsy site with all hand made skin care items. Monica uses gourmet bees wax in her products for a rich, moisturizing feel.

She has a unique group of lipbalms to go along with the 'regular' scents. I just had to try Bacon, as my 14 year old uses the word in just about every sentence. It does indeed smell like bacon! No chance of anyone thinking that this lipbalm is 'girlie'.

Other unique scents are Popcorn, Pizza and Dill Pickle!

Great idea for your boys when they don't want to use lipbalm, but they really do need it! Pull out their Dill Pickle lipbalm and they will get lots of attention.

I really loved the Lemonhead version that I tried. A little more on the 'normal' side, I don't mind smelling lemony fresh. The lipbalm was very moisturizing, and didn't burn my lips. Have you ever had lip balm that actually made your lips feel worse? I sure have, so it is important to me to let you know the little details like that. It goes on smooth and moisturizes just like it should!

Ingredients include
beeswax, sweet almond oil, shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, flavor, fragrance, color tint, natural sweetener

Fantastic combination for moisturizing, long lasting, shine!

I also was able to review one of her lotion bars. I LOVE lotion bars and I think it goes back in the day I had time to make them myself. I love how handy they are to carry in your purse in the tin, and to use on those really dry areas like heels, knees, and elbows.

Love her dragonfly emblem on top of the lotion bars.

These come in a variety of scents! Dragon Fire, Vanilla, Bamboo Sugar, Purple Cow and more. Again you can get a traditional scent or one that is a little off the beaten path!

Want to win your choice of lipbalm and lotion bar??

When Should Family Counseling Be Used?

Disclosure: This was a paid promotional post

Have you felt lately that something has gone wrong with your family? Are your children or your spouse acting abnormally and you don’t know why? If you think that your family is going through something that needs the help of a third party to get through, then perhaps family counseling in Kalamazoo is something you should look into. You don’t have to be embarrassed or disappointed. Most families have issues that they are going through, and you should be proud that you are willing to look for help. If you are still unsure about calling a family counselor, maybe you should do a little bit of research about family counseling and how it could benefit you and your family.

Behavior Problems

Usually when a family goes to a counselor for help, it is because there is some kind of symptom or behavioral problem that is going on with someone in the family. While it might be easy to think that it is the behavior that needs to be addressed, there is always an underlying factor that you need to be aware of. Sometimes a child reacts poorly because of a major change in the family or because they are feeling negatively about something. Children don’t know how to share their deepest feelings properly and can only get a parent’s attention by acting out. A family counselor can help you become aware of how the child may be feeling and what you can do to help.
Family Interventions

When there is one member of the family that is going through a difficult time, the whole family is impacted. When you bring your family in for family counseling in Kalamazoo, you would be able to discover the individual that is causing the issues in the family, and figure out ways to help that individual. When the individual members of the family are feeling comfortable and cared for, there shouldn’t be any issues. Most parents don’t realize that something may be missing within the family dynamic and are able to easily change things when the issue is realized.

Family Dental Group Tips for Proper Oral Health

Disclosure: This was a paid promotional post

When it comes to oral health, millions of people are not doing all they can to prevent cavities and gum disease. How often do you floss your teeth? While some people are great about brushing their teeth, failing to floss your teeth can leave the teeth and gums vulnerable. Your smile speaks a million words. Keep it in the best shape possible with these St. Augustine family dental group oral health tips.

Daily Brushing

The best thing you can do for your mouth brushing your teeth at least twice a day. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to prevent the gums from receding. Gently brush the teeth in a circular motion on each tooth. Covering all surfaces will make sure you are removing all the bacteria and plaque from the mouth. Once you have finished brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, rinse your mouth with water.

A great thing you can do for your oral health is to floss daily. Many people claim flossing helps to reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes. While there is no scientific study to back this claim, daily flossing is vital to your gums. When you floss, you are able to release the bacteria that is stuck just under the gums. This bacteria will cause bad breath and other oral health issues. Flossing is one of the best things you can do to reduce your risk of cavities in between the teeth.

Healthy Eating

So what is really destroying your teeth? Your eating habits play a critical role in your oral health. If you are a person that likes to drink soda or coffee, you may notice your teeth are starting to yellow or have stains. It is important to focus on replacing unhealthy drinks with water. Water is the best thing for your mouth, as it flushes out the bacteria from the mouth. This bacteria is the culprit, causing bad breath and tooth-decay problems. If you choose to continue drinking soda, rinse your mouth with water after each sip. Nursing a soda for several hours can wreak havoc on your mouth. By swishing water around in your mouth after drinking soda, you are able to limit the amount of sugar that is left behind. Contact your St. Augustine family dental group for additional oral health tips.

Shirley J Mugging *Review

Shirley J has revolutionized my evening snacking with mugging! Mugging?? Basically baking the dessert in a microwave safe mug. This allows me to make a single serving dessert or snack without having to heat up the oven or go through all of the measuring cups and mixing bowls to achieve my goal.

The mugging packets come in 8 different varieties.

Chocolate Brownie Cake
Old-Fashioned Yellow Cake and Cobbler
Country Style Cornbread
Gluten-Free Chocolate Brownie Cake
Pumpkin Spice Bread
Walnut Bread
Quiche in a Cup
No-Pan Pancake

The Quiche in a Cup has been fantastic for me to have a quick breakfast in the mornings before we start school. It tastes great and I simply add an egg and some cheese to it and 90 seconds later have a hearty and tasty breakfast. This would work fantastic for those college kids who have to spring out of bed in the morning to make it to class! The No-Pan Pancake would also work wonderfully for breakfast on the run.

I thought I would be all over the desserts first but I really loved the quiche!

Chocolate Brownie Cake was my second choice to try, you can see the youtube video below on how the mugging process and they make this luscious desserts. Adding chocolate chips to the brownie and frosting them on top gives it a heavenly dessert that you certainly will want to hide from the children!

I also tried the Old Fashioned Yellow Cake and Cobbler. I opted to put  chocolate chips on it this first try. I need to purchase some fruit to put on the next one. I love that each box comes with 5 packets so you can try out new things each time.! Each box gives suggestions on ways you can embellish the yummy goodies.

Out of the 8 different products, three do require an additional item to be added. Pumpkin Spice bread calls for canned pumpkin, Walnut Bread calls for walnuts and of course the Quiche calls for an egg and cheese.

The other 5 all you need is water!! There are optional suggestions, like chocolate chips but you don't need anything other than tap water. How cool is that!

Something this easy and gourmet is going to cost a lot right? Not at all! 5 packets for $12.95. $2.20 per mug! That is a great price for a homemade, fresh from the microwave, proportional dessert. Another thing I love about the mugging is that I make just one for myself, rather than a whole pan of brownies where I would tend to overindulge.

They even have a gluten free Chocolate Cake mix! I am so excited for this line of products, I can't wait to see what others they may develop in the future.

I highly recommend the mugging mugs for making your desserts. They are 16 oz bistro style mugs and the perfect size for mugging.

They have gift boxed sets where you can purchase a mug and an individual mugging and it comes in a box all set to wrap and give as a gift. $14.95 and they will have the mug on hand as well.

I am ready for Farmer Bob to have a show with each letter of the alphabet! With our Kindergarten lessons this year we are going through the letter of the week and this DVD is fantastic for tieing in three important things.. a letter, an animal and the best.. A Bible Story!

This DVD is funny, entertaining, very well written and yet it gives us an excellent message that young children can understand.

"Porkchop the Pig teaches the story of the Prodigal Son in a funny and memorable way!
Wacky animals and their hilarious antics will have kids rolling with laughter as they watch the story of Porkchop (Randy Travis), a pig with dreams of making it big in the music business—no matter the cost!
Farmer Bob gives Porkchop the money he needs to follow his dreams, but the friends Porkchop makes in the big city don’t turn out to be as nice as he thought.
