PALOMINO INTRODUCES THE BLACKWING PEARL PENCIL
STOCKTON, California (April 4, 2013) - Palomino, maker of luxury pencils, notebooks, and accessories, has announced the Blackwing Pearl pencil. The new pencil will be available for sale on Pencils.com and at retail stores throughout the United States and Canada on May 2, 2013.
The Blackwing Pearl features a lustrous pearl white finish and black eraser, along with a balanced and smooth graphite core that is softer than the graphite found in the Palomino Blackwing 602, but firmer than the graphite found in the Palomino Blackwing. It joins Palomino’s growing family of Blackwing pencils, notebooks and lifestyle products.
The list of known Blackwing users includes John Steinbeck, Stephen Sondheim, and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and countless other Looney Tunes characters. Now, Blackwings are assisting a new generation of writers, artists and musicians including Grammy Award-winning Sugarland member Kristian Bush and Ren & Stimpy creator Bob Camp.
“The Blackwing’s exceptional performance and elegant look have remained constant throughout its storied tradition of famous users and new versions, “ said Palomino President and CEO Charles Berolzheimer, whose roots in the pencil industry go back seven generations. “This same tradition is represented in the Blackwing Pearl, along with a crisp, new look and a fresh tactile feel for those who are looking for something different.”
The Palomino family of brands includes the Palomino, Blackwing and ForestChoice lines of high quality writing supplies. Blackwing pencils are made of Genuine Incense-cedar grown in California. Founded in 2003 by California Cedar Products Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of wooden pencil slats, Palomino’s high-quality pencils, notebooks and writing accessories are currently available in stores across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
