Lily's Easter Party by Crystal Bowman

This Easter, youngsters will embrace the true meaning of the season with a new book by Crystal Bowman, the Teachers' Choice Award-winning author of The One Year Book of Devotions for Preschoolers.

This book utilizes the Resurrection Egg kit that we have used for years to help our children keep the true meaning of Easter. These plastic eggs that you can purchase from Christian Book Distributors includes 12 eggs to follow through with visual aids, the story of Easter.

Lily's Easter Party has Lily inviting kids from the neighborhood to go on an egg hunt for the Ressurection Eggs, and then the kids hear the story. What a beautiful idea!
My youngest children do not remember having Resurrection Egg parties, so this year I am ordering a new set and we will do like Lily did in the book. I am excited about making some new memories with my preschool and elementary aged children.
Pick up a copy of the book now from Zonderkidz or CBD

LILY'S EASTER PARTY: THE STORY OF THE RESURRECTION EGGS® (Zonderkidz; $7.99; February 2013) is inspired by the bestselling FamilyLife®Resurrection Eggs kit, which is a set of plastic eggs filled with objects that symbolize the Easter story and teaches children about Jesus' death and resurrection.

In the book, Lily and her friends learn there is far more to Easter than jelly beans and chocolate bunnies when Lily's parents plan an egg hunt in the family's backyard.

As Lily and the neighborhood children eagerly collect all 12 hidden eggs and place them in an Easter basket, they come to realize that each egg contains a special surprise.

In a color-coded order that coincides with the Resurrection Eggs by FamilyLife®, the children open their eggs to find a different symbol in each one.  Among the objects is a donkey, a cross, a piece of white linen cloth, and more. As Lily's parents explain the meaning behind each item, the children discover their true significance and - the greatest Easter prize of all - the miraculous story of how Jesus died and rose again.

With beautifully vibrant illustrations by Richard Johnson, Bowman masterfully weaves Lily's story with the FamilyLife®Resurrection Eggs tradition, creating an inspiring context for young children and their families.

Sure to become a household holiday tradition for parents, Sunday school teachers and pastors, LILY'S EASTER PARTY offers an interactive way to plant the seeds of the gospel for children. The book will also help children make important connections between the excitement of Easter, Jesus' death and resurrection, and their own family traditions.
