Advice for Seekers Charles Spurgeon
Advice for Seekers
First published in 1896 as Words of Advice for Seekers, Charles Spurgeon wrote to the seekers, those seeking out truth; wanting to know about the Lord and the Bible, though not committed disciples yet. They are seeking answers as they consider the decision of being a follower.
Spurgeon, a baptist preacher certainly doesn't hold back! No beating around the bush with him. Immediately he implies we are insulting God and his, thinking we can 'do' something to merit being saved- when in fact there is nothing we can do to save ourselves.
134 pages of power packed wisdom, focused on removing the barriers too often put between our faith and God's love. I highlighted several passages in the book, coming back and reading them to my family. Spurgeon has a way of simply stating what we as Christians should know, and advising Biblically to those still searching. Still very much relevant today as it was when first published!
