A Angels Bon-appe-Tea, what a darling name for a tea shop!! Very original, just like the teas that Kathleen creates for her Nevada based shop.
I was sent 3 samples and a honey dipper from Kathleen, and first thing I noticed was her care for the environment in utilizing biodegradable and earth friendly packaging. I loved the We Care card enclosed to promote sustainability and the use of these type of materials.
First a little about A Angels Bon-appe-Tea from their Etsy shop:
"Welcome to my Tea Shop!
In the 80's and 90's my brother and I wanted to open a tea shop locally before any teas stores were even here in my home town. But of course, life happens along the way and we never got around too it. So now I am venturing out to have an on line store. I have been an avid Tea drinker for over 40 years. I love all kinds of tea!
I will be blending some unique teas myself which means using all different kinds of botanicals and some pure essential oils, so stay tuned for all the fun that is about to happen!
All my pictures are actual pictures of tea that I have brewed personally and photographed. I have used my dad's old, old cups for these pictures!"
I think we need to raid her Father's cabinet for some of those really cool tea cups!
As soon as opened the packaging I was taken away with the wonderful scent of the teas. They called out to me to try them right away. I decided to first try the Pu-erh Orange, an aged black tea with orange peels that gave it just a subtle hint of orange flavor. Loved this tea, it was very smooth in flavor and will be one I purchase in the future.
I tried to put the Organic Orange/Cinnamon Spice in my Libre tea mug, but the black tea is just a bit too fine for that. You will want to use an infuser with teeny holes or a reusable tea bag with this tea. The cinnamon gives it a very bold flavor, a stronger tea with defined spice flavors. A wonderful jump start tea, great for the cool weather to invigorate your senses.
The third sample I had was the Ginger Root Lemon Tea to help with her acid reflux. Ginger has a wonderful calming affect for your stomach as well and this tea is caffeine free. Made with actual ginger root, and dried lemon peels, this tea has a strong flavor to it, and you will utilize about half the amount of tea than you do with some of the others. I am curious to have a pregnant mama try this tea and see if it helps with the nausea. Kathleen adds honey to hers and recommends that it could also be used as an iced tea. I was fine with the flavor without the sweetness but I do think it would add even more to it.
There are additional flavors on A Angels Bon-appe-Tea, including one that caught my eye for the upcoming holiday.. Valentine's Tea what a great gift idea!
