World Arthritis Day #WorldArthritisDay

While there is no cure for arthritis, The Arthritis Foundation wants to encourage all Americans to take simple steps that will prevent or decrease the pain and disability of arthritis.
In partnership with the Ad Council, the Arthritis Foundation is launching the Take Action Against Arthritis initiative in support of World Arthritis Day on October 12, 2012.
Observed every year on Oct. 12 since 1996, World Arthritis Day is part of a global awareness initiative by the United Nations-endorsed Bone and Joint Decade.

For people struggling with arthritis, exercise can be key to success and pain reduction. It also is a proactive approach to fighting future arthritis problems.
Choosing to have an active life takes a thought out plan of attack. I know for myself if I don't have goals and well thought out plan of attack, I will just forgo exercise all together. I am guilty as many other busy moms are, but with a history of arthritis in my family, World Arthritis Day is a chance to look at some prioritizing.

Make exercising a goal and priority for your day. Set specific time and workout goals.
Have a backup plan if you are too fatigued to exercise as much in a certain day rather than just forgoing it all together.  As will all exercise be sure to consult your health care team for verification that the exercise you are working on is appropriate for you.
