Proverbs Prayers by John Mason

Proverbs  Prayers

John Mason
Praying the wisdom of Proverbs into your life every day.

I have often heard of study plans where you read a chapter in Proverbs each day for the entire month, easy to do because there are 31 chapters and can correspond to the day of the month. It is a great study that you can repeat each month.

With John Mason’s book you can take the reading of Proverbs and add in your quiet prayer time as it relates. I just love this way this is set up! The Proverb written out for you in the book, so you don’t need to make sure you have your Bible right there when you pick up the book. He writes the simple truth of God’s word, no added notes or anything. The next page following that is a prayer by John Mason, incorporating the proverb studied.  Written in first person so that you can read it as your own prayer, even aloud if you desire.  The prayer for me helped to apply the proverb to my own personal life. You can easily continue on after you read this prayer, adding more specifics that the Holy Spirit puts in your mind.

This is a devotional that I plan on using again and again. I love how simple it seems, but how much depth you can get out of the Proverbs.
