Ben Fisk began making maple syrup at 5 year of age! Now 21 this young entrepreneur has two sugar houses and continues to expand his business and share his love of maple syrup products with his customers.
All maple syrup is not created equal. The maple 'flavored' syrup you purchase in the grocery aisle has a typical ingredient list like this:
corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, water, natural and artificial flavors, cellulose gum, salt, caramel, and color.
Not in Ben's syrup.. it is pure maple syrup from the maple tree. Syrup is collected in the spring and boiled down to make the syrup we put on our pancakes! We know people who make syrup and it is an arduous process and a lot of boiling to get it just the right consistency. I have had some from a neighbor friend before that was very liquid still and not a syrup, which causes it to make the pancakes soggy. Ben's syrup is just right for consistency.
Ben's Sugar Shack maple syrup in glass or plastic jugs. Maple Sugar Candy, one of my very favorite treats!! They also sell Maple Cream and other candies.
