Eco Geek Boutique Review & Giveaway

I think I am becoming an EcoGeek without even realizing it. As I learn more about the products I have used in the past and the harm they cause to my family and environment I am taking steps to change those past practices. I love this Eco Geek character from Eco Geek Boutique. He may look like your average Joe Worker, but inside he is concerned about his planet and conservation! What a conversation piece to wear a shirt with Eco Geek on it!!

"EcoGeek designs and sells responsibly sourced t-shirts and other products that help you make a statement AND a contribution to save the planet, all without having to try too hard.Themed shirts like being Carbon Neutral, Climate change, Respecting the Earth, Windmill Power, Public Transportation and more. Wear your cause on a simply stated T-shirt!
My Hubby has been riding his bicycle to work and back daily, a 12 mile trip. I loved this shirt for him as he continues to be Carbon Neutral in his own peddle power! The shirt is very comfortable and one of the softest t-shirts I have found!

Eco Geek Boutique also sells interesting books on the causes as well. Hubby sat and read the whole book.. he was very proud to report he now has read 5 books in his life! (I think he has read a couple more but.. he isn't the reader in the family!)

Meet Erin, founder of Eco Geek Boutique!

How did you come to start EcoGeek Boutique?

"In 2007, upon briefly leaving politics and pursuing higher education, I conceptualized and started EcoGeek Boutique while I was finishing graduate school at the University of Southern California. At first, I used it as a way to relieve stress and nurture my creativity, but now I am working to shape it into a fun, hip voice for the environment that ideally everyone can relate to in some way. Through my work in politics, and especially through the political work I did surrounding the environment, I have become extremely passionate about building awareness for the consequences of climate change, and helping people find their own unique ways to help combat the problem.

In life and through EcoGeek Boutique, I try to tackle politically-charged issues with style, humor, and a wee bit of sarcasm.  Throughout this process, I have always believed finding common ground, and using humor where possible, is the best way to encourage people to address the growing concerns of our planet."

How do you choose prints for the shirts?

"The designs are all things I have come up with on my own.  I am personally responsible for creating the concepts for every t-shirt design that EcoGeek Boutique currently has for sale on our site.  Further, I have done most of the graphic design work myself for the shirt designs, but for a few of our shirts the graphic design work has been done by friends at Imogen Design and Carristo Creative Consulting who have helped take my environmental design concepts and turn them into art. "

What do you feel is one of the biggest ways people can start toward becoming EcoFriendly?
I believe one of the best ways people can work to create a more eco-friendly lifestyle is to pick one environmentally-friendly thing they believe in, and turn it into a habit...then continue to build on that.

EcoGeek Boutique is a company committed to being green. Not only are our servers powered by renewable energy, we work to lower our carbon emissions as much as possible by doing things like telecommuting. We offset what is left of our carbon footprint by calculating it at Sustain our Planet and offsetting it with organizations like Trees for the Future. For every t-shirt sold you help combat climate change by helping EcoGeek Boutique plant a tree with Trees for the Future. It’s called our T(R)EE Shirts program!
