Green Spring Clean- The Rag Company

Green Spring Clean Sponsor
The Rag Company

Remember The Rag Company? I reviewed their bath and personal care rags and LOVED them! http://melanieski.blogspot.com/2012/02/rag-company-microfiber.html

Joining in the Green Spring Cleaning Giveaway I knew I needed to show you all of what The Rag Company offers in cleaning rags. Firstly, what is microfiber?

The Rag Company says this about Micro Fiber Technology

Microfibers are tiny fibers that have been slit into millions of finer fibers
that are no thicker than one hundredth of a human hair. The special slitting process produces an ultra-fine fiber with wedge shape filaments and a core of nylon. The wedge shape, the nylon core, and the smaller size fiber are the key to their effectiveness. When these tiny fibers are woven together into a cloth through a unique weaving method, the result is a powerful cleaning tool. Each cloth consists of tens of thousands of tiny storage compartments that lift the dirt up, trap the waste and leave a clean streak-free surface. Thy nylon core within the microfiber form tiny cutting edges that break up surface dirt and easily absorb and remove oils and other grimy substances. The only solvent you need is water!

The Bottom Line: Microfiber is able to accumulate and absorb more particles of dirt and bacteria than any other fabric known. It can absorb up to 7 times its weight in dirt or liquid.  Microfiber fabric consists of two basic fibers, Polyester and Polyamide.  The microfiber surface contains hundreds of thousands of microscopic "hooks" per square inch that attract grease, dirt, and grime like a  magnet.

From washing dishes, to dusting, to cleaning windows and other household chores, you can utilize the rags from The Rag Company. They have a cleaning rag for each job you need during this spring cleaning time! And the best part is that most jobs can be done simply with the rag and water. You can't get any more Eco-Friendly than that!

The Rag Company has several product lines:
*bath and personal care
*house cleaning
*auto detailing
*fine lens and jewelry cleaning
I have had readers comment on the microfibers being a bit hard to use when you have rough hands as the microfibers tend to get caught on small parts of your dry skin. I would recommend the waffle style weaves for that as they do not have the fluffiness to get stuck on your dry skin as much.

Don’t know where to start to build up your microfiber line of products, the Rag Company has put together a starter pack of products, perfect for the first time buyer!

I honestly could go on and on about this product, probably one of the BEST products I have reviewed in its usefulness, cost efficiency, and eco friendly focus!!

The only downfall I found is that I need to wash them separately, not mixing with cottons, in hot water to release the dirt particles. No bleach, no fabric softener (which is not a problem at all). So they do take a little more maintenance than some of the cotton rags, but their efficiency far outweighs the trouble of washing a small load of rags together.

The Rag Company is donated a set of 3 towels that will clean windows without chemicals to the Green Spring Clean giveaway!!

I received a generous collection of rags from The Rag Company to facilitate my review. I was not compensated in any other way.

  19. When done washing the dishes, rinse cloth in hot water from the tap, wring out well, then rinse well with cold water, wringing it well again. When your kettle is boiled for any reason, pour the extra boiling water over the cloth. Let it cool and wring it out. The cloth will not smell and will stay quite clean for a long while. Throw it in the washing machine with some bleach if it really needs a good cleaning.
