The Rag Company- MicroFiber

The Rag Company
Home of the Finest Micro Fiber Products

Micro Fiber? Lately I have been reading more and more about micro fiber products from rags to sofas. What exactly is micro fiber?
The Rag Company says this about Micro Fiber Technology
Microfibers are tiny fibers that have been slit into millions of finer fibers
that are no thicker than one hundredth of a human hair. The special
slitting process produces an ultra-fine fiber with wedge shape filaments and a core of nylon. The wedge shape, the nylon core, and the smaller size fiber are the key to their effectiveness. When these tiny fibers are woven together into a cloth through a unique weaving method, the result is a powerful cleaning tool. Each cloth consists of tens of thousands of tiny storage compartments that lift the dirt up, trap the waste and leave a clean streak-free surface. Thy nylon core within the microfiber form tiny cutting edges that break up surface dirt and easily absorb and remove oils and other grimy substances. The only solvent you need is water!

The Bottom Line: Microfiber is able to accumulate and absorb more particles of dirt and bacteria than any other fabric known. It can absorb up to 7 times its weight in dirt or liquid.  Microfiber fabric consists of two basic fibers, Polyester and Polyamide.  The microfiber surface contains hundreds of thousands of microscopic "hooks" per square inch that attract grease, dirt, and grime like a  magnet.

I can understand how this would be highly beneficial in the cleaning and auto lines that the RAG Company supplies, but what about bath and personal care?

Does your skin ever get bogged down from the cosmetics, cleaning solutions, moisturizers and just need some room to breath? I know mine does. Skin naturally exfoliates, sluffing off dead skin cells but when you continuously have it covered with cosmetic products your skin has a harder time doing this naturally. Microfiber skin care products ‘safely exfoliates the upper layer of your skin, which is called stratum corium. Microfiber material is proven to exfoliate dead skin cells, remove cosmetics, oil and dirt, all without the use of harsh chemicals.”

Without harmful chemicals.. just natural water

I utilized the bath and personal care line on my face and it made a world of difference! Where I typically had loose skin trying to sluff off, there was a smooth new, healthy layer of skin. The natural beauty we are meant to show came through as easily as using this super soft wash towel and letting my skin breath. My favorite was the Waffle Weave cloth
My mother was here recently and she tried the 12 by 12 Ultra Fluffy Facial and was super excited about the results. I actually send the washcloth home with her so she would have one while she waits to order more! She had me feel her skin in the evening and was very pleased with how soft it still felt.
Using the Rag Companies Bath and Personal care line helped my skin become more radiant and youthful in just a short amount of time.
The great thing is that the Rag Company has several product lines, not just Bath and Personal! I will review their cleaning line in more detail during my spring cleaning hops in March, but know that their full line up of products is as follows
*bath and personal care
*house cleaning
*auto detailing
*fine lens and jewelry cleaning

For their retail line of fine products visit The Rag Company at

Don’t know where to start to build up your microfiber line of products, the Rag Company has put together a starter pack of products, perfect for the first time buyer!

I honestly could go on and on about this product, probably one of the BEST products I have reviewed in its usefulness, cost efficiency, and eco friendly focus!!

The only downfall I found is that I need to wash them separately, not mixing with cottons, in hot water to release the dirt particles. No bleach, no fabric softener (which is not a problem at all). So they do take a little more maintenance than some of the cotton rags, but their efficiency far outweighs the trouble of washing a small load of rags together.

I received a generous collection of rags from The Rag Company to facilitate my review. I was not compensated in any other way.

Question...whenever I have a microfiber cloth, when I touch it, because of rough fingers, it catches. Do these do that?? Great review...

Melanie Ski said...

The cloths with the microfiber weave would be less likely to have that happen. I tried the weave and the spa towel and those didn't catch like I think the fluffy might on really rough fingers in the winter.

Cheryl said...

That would have been my question too. I have one microfiber cloth for cleaning and it catches on everything--including my dry fingers.

These actually sound wonderful as a beauty proudct. I would never have thought to have tried them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I wonder if the facial towels are safe for rosasea skin. They really look good!

CelticLady said...

Thanks for answering my question. That would be nice to have a cloth that works great and does not catch on dry rough fingers....

Ohh, neat! This company looks really cool, and one I will have to check out. And what a bonus that it doesn't catch. Thanks for post your thoughts, Melanie!

I just got my first microfiber cloth recently and really like it as far as dusting goes, most of the ones I had before just spread the dust around but this really captures it... good thing because I am allergic!

I never knew the process on how Microfiber was made. Those thousands and thousands of split threads explains why it "catches" on rough skin... I was always a little annoyed with how Microfiber felt on my sometimes dry hands. Now I realize that what was an annoyance, is what makes the cloth clean so much better.

I never thought about how extensive the process is to make these towels or how much dirt and/or liquid they picked up.

I like how the diagram shows the difference between microfiber and cotton. I knew microfiber was better, I just didn't understand why. I like that there's no need for harsh chemicals.

It's good to know that the weave style doesn't cling to rough fingertips. How are they regarding lint shedding?

Traci Lynn Butler said...

I like to dust with just a damp cloth - sounds like these would be great for that!

Barbara R. said...

I have used microfiber cloths for dusting, however I have not see them that are for facial use. I like what you said that the skin on the face will be soft and smooth. Thank for bringing this product to my attention.
