Stainless Steel Reusable Straw, Review and Giveaway

Mulled Mind
Stainless Steel Reusable Straw

I was a little hesitant at first to use a stainless steel straw, thinking it may taste metallic. Not at all. What is so cool about the metal, is when I have a glass full of ice water, the straw picks up the coldness from the ice and makes the straw really cold. Nothing like drinking a cold drink through a cold straw. Totally new sensation! You don’t get that will cheap plastic straws, and I am saving the environment by not continuously throwing straws away.

I asked Heather Melling, owner of Mulled Mind how she came to make stainless steel straws and a product she would like to add to her store in the future.

We started making straws when I was out of a job looking for work. I hate being idle, so I always find a project, usually involving making something. I saw all these cheap stainless steel straws coming out of tubing factories in china, and I wondered if I could just make some myself. Once I did it, I found that I could make them cheaply enough to sell them on to others. There was a hole in the market for handmade, ethically made, straws and I also provide the option of custom widths and lengths, which no one else does. The one product we would really like to be able to offer is bent straws. “

Heather puts the straws in a nice drawstring bag so I can store it when I am not using it, which so far hasn’t happened yet! The kids hound me to drink out of my cool straw!

  6. Added to my favorites. What an awesome shop.I am particularly liking the straws for the smoothies. We drink smoothies around her all the time, but have never come across a straw that was wide enough for the thick drink.
