Sea Turtle Summer Book Review

Sea Turtle Summer
Nancy Stewart
Art by Samantha Bell

The loggerhead turtle is the world’s largest turtle weighing up to 350 pounds! Amazing that these beautiful creatures return to the shore where they were hatched, to lay their own eggs.
Bella and Brit in Sea Turtle Summer witness a turtle laying her eggs in a nest on the shore and go to alert the ranger in charge of protecting the turtle nests. They found him gone for the day and were concerned about the nest that was out in the open on the beach. Turtle nests are protected by law and blocked off with caution tape to protect them from harm. Knowing the safety of the eggs was in jeopardy, Brit and Bella must try to protect the nest themselves.
Nancy Stewart takes a beautiful event of the Florida shores and makes it available to children everywhere. Educational and a great springboard for a youngsters interest in loggerhead turtles.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
