The Pirate Koostoe by Michael Scotto

The Pirate Koostoe
Michael Scotto

A Tales of Midlandia Storybook

Koostoe is the captain of a ship, searching for treasure to share with others. It hadn't always been like that though. When Koostoe was young he wanted to be a pirate and take treasures for himself. Though his friends told him that taking treasure was stealing, Koostoe was determined to be a pirate. He heads out in his little rowboat in search of treasure.

Fantastic theme of finding treasure in memories and things you value, rather than in riches. I love when children's books give a clear message that is understood even by the very young, but captures the minds of the older ones as well. Pirates are an interest to many children, and I love how Michael Scotto had Koostoe the captain reminisce about wanting to be a pirate, so show how he has learned to find his treasure in other things.

Fantastic illustrations by The Ink Circle!
Can't wait to read more by Michael Scotto about the tales in Midlandia.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
